5th Dec – Lazy day

After a late start we decided to head north and checkout some of the northern beaches along the way. The morning was blowy and you couldn’t even access the Narrabeen pools as the tide was so high and the seas so rough. All the bays just have the most amazing view, Bilgola South head was very cute, it was not as exposed to the elements as many of the others, but none the less the beach was closed as were all of them along the coast. We headed back at 1pm for a sausage sizzle (as we never managed to find any BBQs on our travels) and the boys even managed to catch up on some homework. With another big black cloud in the distance we decided to go for a quick bike ride around the lake, still no rain, so we headed out for a walk over the Narrabeen headland as the tide was now well and truly out. The water was too tempting so the boys decided to have a quick dip in the ocean pool, it was way too cold for us, and they manage to have a bit of a play and even get in a couple laps. Oh to be a kid again and not be worried about the cold.....!
