25th Dec - Christmas Day

The Boys were up early to check out the stockings they left outside of the door of the camper and guess what, they were lucky Santa came to Fingal Bay.

As we all know Christmas is about family and food! First course was prawns and lobster for breakfast, Andrew was appointed head chief and was into it nice and early, Toni and Joshua tried some of the prawns but young Aido stayed well clear! Chris and Andrew devoured the lobster and Bell helped with the prawns. The weather was hot and humid with no rain... yahoooo, so we all walked to the lighthouse where we took in the view of the dramatic rock formations and the view of Cook Island just 500m off the beach, we even managed to find  a shady spot for a Christmas photo.

Before we knew it  was Lunch time, we enjoyed Andrews home cooked ham, and steak with salads and of course Beer and Champagne, the crackers were popping (Riley made sure we had these), as we enjoyed a lovely family lunch.

Out the front of the caravan park the wind was in so the surf was pretty bumpy, we decided to hit the other side of the lighthouse and we found some awesome conditions. We all had a shot on the surf mats, the carnage after the big waves was pretty funny, and we got some great video. We even managed to see a couple of dolphins surfing in a wave just off the beach, loads of fun and lots of wipe-outs.

Early evening brought a spectacular storm with copious amounts of sheet and fork lighting. It was incredible to watch all around us, with the light show the huge claps of thunder had us wowing, it was a great show! To cap off the day we watched off the Grizwalds Christmas Vacation followed by the  classic, ‘The Castle’. We even found the boys quoting little sayings from the movie latter.
