8th Jan - Ticking the boxes and Black Head
Being the last day this is a planned ‘Lazy Day’, set aside
for washing, haircuts, car wash and general repairs required for the week and
our move to the next location. After lunch we headed for the beach while the
weather is holding out and it is still hot. The temperature today was 34
degrees, and we headed for Black Head Beach just next to Red Head at Halliday
Point, there were perfect waves with something for everyone. Mum got up on her
first wave and after 20 minutes or so handed over to Dad who had half an hour
before the boys took over for the afternoon, we even managed to get out the Gopro
in the waves to catch some of the surf action for the boys. There was almost no
wind, and along with our music playing in the background and some beach drinks made
the perfect setting. Once we headed back to the camp we finished off the
evening with a jamming session on the guitars. The boys started writing a silly
song to a tune Aiden recently composed, this with a spectacular lightening
display in the sky made for a pretty cool evening, this maybe our last clear
day we will see for a bit as the weather is forecast to turn.
