4th Jan - Honey Place & Tuncurry/Forster

Certainly one of the daily highlights we will miss is the gorgeous lorikeets (almost like puppies) that would come in every day for a feed and the Kookaburra family. As we farewelled our lovely neighbours at the Lorikeet Holiday Park we hit the road, along the way we stopped at Urunga to visit the Honey Place. The trip was short and we soon arrived at our new destination for the next 5 days. (Travellers Tip, where possible avoid the GATEWAY LIFESTYLE CARAVAN PARKS, these are being turned into residential parks and removing all the facilities slowly, while increasing the prices.)

We arrived at the Getaway Hallidays Point Caravan park, and did a quick set up (well they are always quick as we have had plenty of practice). We decided to go and explore Black Head (just around the corner) Tuncurry and Forster. The highlight was watching the dolphins play in the waves of the entrance to Wallis Lake. There must off been around 30 plus having fun fishing in the fast moving outgoing tide, the tide heading out so fast it was making 5 foot waves through the entrance!
